MADISON, Wis. (WMDX) – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has issued an air quality alert for unhealthy levels of ozone across much of the state Wednesday.
The alert is valid from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday and includes all of southern, eastern and central Wisconsin, with only the northwestern part of the state not included in the alert.
According to the DNR, weather conditions are allowing ozone production in the affected parts of the state, which places the air quality index in the orange, or unhealthy for sensitive groups, level. This means people with certain medical conditions, children, older adults and people who are active outdoors should limit their outdoor activities.
You can learn more about air quality and how the DNR tracks it on the DNR’s website.
