APPLETON, WI – (WGBW & WISS) – The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) asks drivers to be aware of ramp, lane, and complete construction closures on I-41 in Winnebago and Outagamie counties this week. The construction closures are part of the I-41 Rehabilitation Project between Breezewood Avenue and Wisconsin Highway 15.
This project is separate from the I-41 Expansion Project between Appleton and De Pere. There will be several ramp closures in relation to the expansion project as well.
The DOT has scheduled several on and off-ramp closures as part both projects, there will also be some full closures of the interstate during overnight hours. Southbound I-41 at the County BB Interchange will be closed Monday, April 15th from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday morning. Southbound I-41 between Wisconsin Avenue and Richmond Street will be closed Wednesday, April 17th from 11 p.m. until 4:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

Monday, April 15 through May 6: US 10/I-41 System-to-System Ramp Closed
- Westbound US 10 to northbound I-41 ramp will be CLOSED beginning on April 15, 2024 to May 6, 2024.
- Detour: Drivers should take westbound US 10 to County CB to eastbound US 10 to I-41
Monday, April 15
- SB I-41 at County BB Interchange CLOSED from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Detour: SB I-41 off-ramp to County BB and re-enter via SB on-ramp from County BB
- NB I-41 off-ramp to County BB CLOSED from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- NB I-41 on-ramp from County BB CLOSED 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Tuesday, April 16
- NB I-41 off-ramp to WIS 114 CLOSED 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- NB I-41 on-ramp from WIS 114 CLOSED 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- NB I-41 off-ramp to College Avenue CLOSED 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- SB I-41 on-ramp from County BB CLOSED 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Wednesday, April 17
- NB I-41 off-ramp to College Avenue CLOSED 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- NB I-41 on-ramp from College Avenue CLOSED 7 p.m. to 11 a.m.
Thursday, April 18
- SB I-41 at WIS 114 Interchange FREEWAY CLOSED 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Detour: SB I-41 off-ramp to WIS 114 and re-enter via SB on-ramp from WIS 114
Friday, April 19
- SB I-41 at WIS 114 Interchange FREEWAY CLOSED 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Detour: SB I-41 off-ramp to WIS 114 and re-enter via SB on-ramp from WIS 114
Project location
The project location is on I-41 between Breezewood Lane in the city of Neenah to WIS 15 in the town of Grand Chute.
I-41 Expansion Project closures
Week of April 15
- Drivers can expect reduced lanes on northbound (NB) and southbound (SB) I-41 between Richmond Street and WIS 15 throughout the week.
- SB I-41 between Wisconsin Avenue and Richmond Street will be CLOSED overnight Wednesday, April 17 from 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
- Detour: Take WIS 47/Richmond Street south to WIS 96/Wisconsin Avenue. Turn right and head west to SB I-41.
- In addition, the following ramps will be closed on Wednesday:
- SB I-41 entrance ramp from Richmond Street CLOSED from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- SB I-41 exit ramp to WIS 15 CLOSED from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Capitol Drive over I-41 between N. Capitol Court and Northridge Lane is closed until August 2024.
