OSHKOSH, WI – (WGBW & WISS) – If performing the National Anthem at a sporting event is on your bucket list, the Wisconsin Herd is looking for you. The Herd is holding auditions for singers to perform the National Anthem at home games for the 2024/25 season in the Oshkosh Arena in Oshkosh. Auditions are from 1 till 2 pm on Sunday October 20th at the Arena.
Steve Brandes Team President for the Wisconsin Herd said the auditions are just the beginning of a great kick off to the new season. On Sunday, October 20th there will be a 5K and a celebration of the season followed by the National Anthem auditions at 1 PM.
“We’d love to have you run with the Herd this season,” Brandes said.
The singers chosen to open for the Wisconsin Herd will show a passion for the National Anthem as well as being great singers.
“We’re looking for anyone and everyone who has the pipes to belt out or share the National Anthem on the big stage in front of our crowd” said Brandes. “That could range from individuals who have great vocals to groups, like barbershop quartets.”
Brandes said people have brought instruments with them to audition. The audition does not have to be acapella.
Later, there will be a draft party on October 26th at noon for the public at the Arena. The first home game is Friday, November 15th at 7 PM.
Singers who want to audition should register online: Here. Singers can also register on-site and will audition in the order in which they arrive. Performers will only have to audition once.
Requirements:
Director of Game Production, Brian Litke, and Entertainment Coordinator, Hannah Willard will be the primary judges for the auditions.
